Fourth project meeting and workshop of MECVET project in Trikala



Within the European program entitled MECVET - Development and Test of a Modular ECVET System in Europe- which has been approved and funded by the Turkish National Unit of European Programs under the framework of Leonardo Da Vinci (Transfer of Innovation– TOI), the fourth meeting of the partnerships and the technical workshop was held at Trikala in the premises of Developmental Centre of Thessaly from 04/06/2015 to 06/06/2015. Participants were welcomed to AKETH by the Director Ms. Donna Evangelia and the responsible persons fof the activities and the technical seminar of the meeting Mr. Achilleas Kostoulas and Mr. Stefanos Souflias.

1The main objectives of the project is the development and test of a modular ECVET system in the field of care for the elderly in Europe giving the opportunity for recognition of qualifications and skills  of those employed persons to the subject in European Union countries. Apart from Developmental Center of Thessaly participate as partners, organizations, institutions, companies, universities and public institutions of the countries: Turkey, Germany, Portugal, Bulgaria and Switzerland while coordinator of the project is the Governorship of Istanbul.


In this fourth project meeting presented both the results of the survey conducted in the partner countries of the project relating to the analysis of the current status and needs of the vocational education sector (elderly care) and the ECVET framework and the analysis of the learning outcomes of the training modules that have been developed within the framework of the project. Also a workshop held that concerned the use and management of the CEMES platform and the evaluation of the skills/competences of potential workers in the elderly care sector.

In parallel meetings with local authorities of Trikala region took place. In particular a meeting and roundtable discussion held in Regional Unit of Trikala, with the participation of the Deputy Governor of Trikala Regional Unit, Mr. Christos Michalakis, the Deputy Governor of Rural Economy and Veterinary Medicine and Vice President of Trikala Hospital Mr. Barda Constantinos and the Deputy Governor of Public Health Mr. Tsigas George. In that meeting all participants and authorities had the opportunity to discuss issues of future cooperation.


Also a meeting held in Trikala City Hall with the participation of Mrs. Mitsiadi Vasiliki Eleni (Deputy Mayor of Education-Culture-Sport & Youth) who made a detailed presentation (history and sightseeings) of the city and the region of Trikala.


Finally, project partners had the chance to visit and guided to Osman Shah Mosque and to Meteora.
